Sylvain Robert obtained his Master's degree in Fine Arts in 1992 before going into cinema and new media. His works of fiction have been shown in various cultural events, such as the Design Symposium at Concordia University; the Sarajevo Film Festival, Hamburg Short Film Festival, le Festival Video de Liège; Les Instants Vidéo de Manosque; Vidéoformes in Clermont-Ferrand; Festival DaKINO in Bucarest; the cultural television channel ARTV and on the website silenceoncourt.tv Sylvain Robert has collaborated with various artistic productions, such as Les Grands Ballets Canadiens' The Queen of Spades, Michel Lemieux's Harmonie 2000 in Hull, the Canada Dance Festival in Ottawa, the Festival de nouveau Cinéma et Nouveaux médias de Montréal and Kosmogonia in Shawinigan. He teaches new media at Concordia University in Montreal.
