Born in Seoul, Korea, Eunjung Hwang lives and works in New York. She completed an MFA in Computer Arts at School of Visual Arts, New York in 2002. Her animations and new media works have been shown at a number of exhibitions and festivals internationally since 2000. She is currently artist in residence at Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces in Melbourne, Australia as a laureate of UNESCO-ASCHBERG Bursary for Artist for 2002 – 2003. She has recently received Award of the State Capital Stuttgart for New Media at the 16th Stuttgarter Filmwinter, Stuttgart, Germany.
